I have only thumbed through it so far. It looks very thorough. Its physically big as well!

I just deployed my second Revo site. The first one was a community site with different users, private pages, logins, gallery and heavy use of the Peoples snippet. So far so good. The second site is my own site, a major switch from Evo to Revo. Quite a few moving parts here as well, with a jQuery based nav sprite, a second nav system, a JAIL based Gallery system with pagination & a jQuery window box, and a blog system based on Articles with Quip, all with a ton of custom CSS. Phew! Its been quite the mission. I was really quite hesitant with going with Revo after being a long time Evo user, but I am hooked now. I will post my site once the dust has settled. Right now I have a jQuery clash going on...

Bob, I am sure your book will become an invaluable resource!

        Thanks to all involved!

Just read chapter 1 carefully and zipped through chapter 2 (no install issues for me so far).

Although chapter 1 just outlays the basics it does spell out how the terminology has evolved or changed. These explanations are quite useful in describing the entire MODx universe to potential site owners. This comes in handy when pitching MODx (as a solution) to potential clients, etc.

          Max

PS: not sure I deserve it but thanks for inlcuding me in the Acknowledgements list in the beginning of the book!

The questions you asked when starting out with MODX helped me understand what needed to go in the book. wink
