For a new website clients should be able to upload pdf-documents, categorize them and find them in different ways.

Functionality should in fact be much like the Repository on the MODx site.

Can someone give me some hints which snippets I should use to get started? Other tips are also welcome of course wink

Ditto + the recently optimized tagCloud and tagLinks snippets will play a huge role on the display side.

Thank you for your quick response. smiley

I’m currently looking into the documentation of Ditto.

What concerns me most at this moment is how to set up the upload part. Which snippet do I use and how do I set up the database? Clients should not only be able to upload their documents but also be able to categorize them in different ways, add an explanation and so on.

        Any hints on that part?

        Thanks

I’m as curious as you are grin

I already downloaded the upload snippet, but as far as I can see it only uploads the files. No categorizing or commenting capabilities, which is probably the most important part.

I guess I have to combine some snippets, so I keep on puzzling rolleyes

I’ve used Jot before, but only as a guestbook. Didn’t consider it for this task. I’ll look into that one closer.

                Thanks smiley

As far as I can see, Jot isn’t suitable for this purpose.

Yesterday, I found the topic about the eForm2db snippet, so perhaps I can use this in combination with eForm and the FileUpload snippet. Hope I can start testing it this weekend.

I don’t want to create any own solutions/snippets, because all the functionality I need I see in the Modx Repository. So I guess all I need should be available in Modx.

If any of the developers of the repository could give me some hints on how to achieve this, I would really appreciate it very much!

                  Wim.
