Revo with XAMPP and 32-bit Vista

The manual warns

There have been reported problems with installing Revolution on 64-bit Vista with XAMPP. We cannot guarantee a working solution on that OS and setup at this time.

Has anyone successfully installed Revo with XAMPP on 32-bit Vista?
I wonder if the problem mentioned above just holds true for the 64-bit Vista version and would be glad to get some feedback by 32-bit Vista users.

I've been using XAMPP on Vista Ultimate for a long time. TBH, I'm not sure if I'm using the 32- or 64-bit version of XAMPP, since Vista Ultimate has both systems. Looking at the dll files, it appears to be the 32-bit version and I've had very little trouble with it.

It can be looked up under Control Panel / System and Maintenance / System.

I am on 32-bit Vista Home Premium with SP2, which is inferior to Vista Ultimate, but I am going to try it all the same. Just wanted to get some feedback after seeing the warning in the manual.

BTW, 20 mins ago I ordered your Modx Guide via Amazon, having discovered by way of following the link in your sig that you are the author of this book.
Seeing the complete TOC in Mary's coding pad and reading her review confirmed my decision to order the Opus Magnum ;-)

No, actually, mine says 64-bit, but it will also run 32-bit versions of programs.
