    Hi all,

I am brand new to MODx so please bear with me. I have a client whose site was built in MODx by the previous web development company. The version is 1.0.2. For some reason, the script they used for putting RSS feeds on pages on their site is no longer working. The RSS feed is from their WordPress blog and it is still valid. The script they used is called "FeedParser" and I don't know why it stopped worked. I attempted to use other RSS feed scripts but all of them say that I need to create a new Snippet. The problem is that when I log in, I don't see an option to add a new snippet. I can add a new Chunk but not a snippet. I am assuming it has something to do with user permissions, but I'm not 100% sure. Does anyone know how to add an RSS feed without the use of Snippets? I also have full FTP access if that helps. Otherwise, I will have to get the client to get in touch with their former web development company to upgrade our permission levels and who knows how long that will take.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply but that link doesn't address why I can't see a Snippets tab at all. I'm pretty sure it's a user permission issue so we'll have to wait to get the old web dev company to upgrade our access. :-/

It sounds like you are not the main admin user and don't have permission in MODX to see that tab. If you have access through PhpMyAdmin, you could change your user role to match the admin one. It's also possible, though unlikely, that you have the right to alter your permissions.

Otherwise, it will be up to whoever is the real admin.

The best guess on why the code no longer works is that the host has upgraded PHP and the code contains deprecated functions. There may be clues in the error log, if you can see it.
