    I just found out that changing only that one line as explained above breaks tag links as well as archive links...

      The most annoying thing is that if I change that line in the source, my RSS feed is no longer working. That sucks!!! I need the feed to promote my blogs... And I haven't found out how to fix that. If anyone has an idea, please share it here: https://forums.modx.com/thread/74757/symlink-to-rss-feed-from-articles

      And please comment on this bug: http://tracker.modx.com/issues/6823

        I would love to see a change here as well. All I want is the simple alias without the containerUrl
        So this is what I did, but I do not know what else will break, but this seems to fix the url issue on the page itself.

        I have gone into /core/components/articles/model/articles.article.class.php

        and changed line 286 from uri = rtrim($containerUri,'/') .'/'. rtrim($furlTemplate); to
        $uri = rtrim($furlTemplate);

        I wonder how to get this into the core? I don not understand the pull and commit and other stuff, but think this is a great package and would love to see this incorporated.

          Here is the updated articles.class.php file that addresses the same fix in articles v1.6.4:

          http://www.divshare.com/download/23833423-73e

          Just unzip and copy the file to:
          /core/components/articles/model/articles

          WARNING: Do not copy the file over if you are using a different version of articles to 1.6.4

            scratch that. Just noticed articles now has a general setting:
