SSL-Pages are automatically loaded twice - Can anybody help to find the reason of this problem?

On our modx-installation (2.2.0-pl2) we have the following problem: Pages which are delivered by ssl (https) are automatically loaded twice when we use Google Chrome (every snippets on the page is executed twice) while everything is correct when we use firefox, opera and IE.

On a second installation of modx on the same server this problem of loading https-pages twice doesn´t occur.

Does anybody have an idea how we maybe can find out what could be the reason for this strange behavior?

Is there any possibility to log every step when the ssl-pages are delivered to Chrome?

Does anybody have an idea how we could diagnose this problem?

Meanwhile we screened in the modx-database the table modx_site_plugin_events but didn´t found any plugin which might could be executed on pageload and therefore responsible for the double-loads of ssl-pages.

Are there any other tables in the modx-database where we could look for system-events which might execute on a page-load and could lead to the double-loads?

I don't know much of anything about SSL access, but I think it may be more logical to look in your .htaccess file for the issue or the server configuration for SSL.

It seems more likely that either the host is delivering the page twice for some reason or Chrome is requesting it twice.
