I have two environments with Revo 2.2pl.
With the same addon (Advsearch 1.0.0pl) with the same hierarchy of documents on the same platform, I execute a search in 0.55s in the first environment and in 2.62s with the second environment.
I have no errors in the log and the system settings seems to be the same for the two Revo environments.
Where I need to have a look to understand these performance differences ?

Can you tell us more about the environment, how many documents are there in the site?
The environment is the same for the two site. MODx 2.2 pl2 and the site which has the faster search has a number of documents (153) highter than the site with the slowest search (125).
And the sql request executed is the same and has the same execution time.
The search is done with the same addon package. And the search occurs on the same set of documents. And I compare the server elapsed time of the search on a local windows 7 platform.
But as I did several migration cycles (2.1.5 -> 2.2 rc2 -> 2.2 rc3 -> 2.2 rc2 -> 2.2 pl2) to get a final stable 2.2 pl2, I suspect a some installation issues. The system settings (caching settings) seems to be the same on the both environments. And before to do the tests I removed all the core/cache folders.
Any thought where I need to have a look is welcome.
I know that I could set a new environment by reinstalling a fresh environment and then again migrate only the resources from one to the other. But I would like to try to understand and fix without a new installation.

I have re-installed a new Revo 2.2 pl environment from scratch. I have only migrated through PhpMyAdmin categories, documents, templates, and chunks resources.
Unfortunately I continue to get the slowest performance results (similar as my previous 2nd environment (revo2).
As my first environment (revo1) has been set up from Revo 2.1.5 (before to migrate to 2.2 pl2), I think that this has an impact on the performances.
I have used xdebug profiler to see where are the differences between the two code execution. I notice that the processing of a chunk takes 29 ms on my first environment (revo1) and 360 ms on my 2nd environment (revo2).
With my first environment the advsearch output rendering takes 800ms. And 8591ms with my second environment !!!
I don't understand why an older enviroment provides better results than a new installation.
I could provide the two cacheGrind (or callGrind) files If it could help.

Try setting the log level (system settings) to 2, 3 or 4 and see if that gives any interesting logs in the error log.
Any difference in amount of TVs etc?
With log level 3 I get only these warning messages:

But I get the same kind of messages with my first environment (revo1), so this couldn't explain the performance difference between the 2 environments.
Ok some language strings were missing in the default language file. Fixed.
But the performance differences between the two environments remain the same.

I'm not sure... those lexicon errors don't really delay the site *that* much, though of course every error is one too many.
As advSearch works with TVs last time I checked - how's that handled? Are there any TVs in the slow install that don't exist in the fast one? Any chance there's values in the DB that don't match the resources due to the importing you've done?
