A client asked me if tweets could be auto created when adding news stories to their site.

After a quick search around looking for a module I stumbled on the fact that the new Articles module has a tweet option. So my question is whether Articles is the correct approach or a sledge hammer to crack a nut?

I've installed and tried Articles and it's a bit of a shock that individual articles aren't visible in the Resource tree, so it's like a CMS within a CMS.

If I go down the Articles route I've got to theme it into the site and make it look just like regular old news resources with a summary page, for which I've used getresources.

Is this a good approach or is there a quicker way to auto tweet my existing news stories?

You could use http://twitterfeed.com/ to post to twitter from a RSS feed but I personally think that Articles is the way to go as it wouldn't be that hard to duplicate a template and put the articles stuff in it plus it already has the ability built in to tweet.

There are other things on the road map ( http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Articles.Roadmap ) plus you have a community of developers improving it all the time.
