I had a weird experience with TinyMCE and thought I'd see if anyone else has encountered it. (MODX 2.1.5).
I happened to have a page without a specified character set in the header. At the end of each sentence, the space after the period was stored as C2 A0, the UTF-8 non-breaking space character. These rendered in the browser as A with a little hat on it. Specifying UTF-8 in the header fixed the display, but the question is, where did these guys come from to begin with.
It might make sense if there were two spaces after the period, then you would have 20 C2 A0, with the second space being rendered as a non-breaking space, but the C2 A0 is the only character there. All the other spaces on the page are stored as 20, so it appears that TinyMCE is converting a period followed by a space to a period followed by C2 A0 (and why would you want text not to break at the end of a sentence

). The text was typed in TinyMCE rather than pasted (though some of it was cut-and-pasted within the doc).
You may have this too without knowing it, since if MODX is using UTF-8 and that is specified in the template, you'd never see it.
Thoughts?
