Template Variables don't display in Custom Dashboard Widget

I am using Revolution 2.2-pl2 and have created a new Dashboard Widget that displays a list of resources via a getresources snippet. the output however will only display the built in TV's like pagetitle and description and won't display the output of any user created TV's.

I've tried outputting these TV's on the actual resource page and this works fine however on the dashboard they won't display.

While on the subject does anyone have any experience yet of creating custom widgets, been trying to get the site schedule to appear on the dashboard next to the "recently edited resources" but can't think how to do it.

anyone help?
