I’ve just upgraded a 0.95 MODx to 0.96RC3 and noticed that an extra plugin entry had been added to the MODx settings table and the newer one appeared to be disabled (had a 1 in the column). I deleted the older version and had some minor problems (I think TinyMCE themes stopped working) so I re-ran the upgrader but only checked the "install TinyMCE plugin" option.
Since then, TinyMCE completely fails to load on that install.

I could do with some ideas on how to debug this, as I am currently baffled.

I should add that I have another clean 0.96 RC3 system on the same server, and that works fine. I’ve manually checked the TinyMCE plugin settings between the two versions and they are identical as far as I can see (plugin events etc).
TinyMCE appears correctly in the config screens, and I think MODx is trying to load it when I edit a page, as I get the following in Firefox’s error console:

    Error: editorTemplate has no properties
    Source File: http://www.mysite.co.uk/assets/plugins/tinymce210/jscripts/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js
    Line: 1

It is as if MODx is calling it with the wrong parameters? The original URL above works fine by the way - all the TinyMCE files are web accessible as far as I can tell.
Just to clarify, TinyMCE doesn’t appear at all in the editor screen - it is selected as the editor but the display is just an HTML box. There are no on-screen MODx errors.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

Are all the correct events checked in the manager? It could simply be a bad upload of some of the TinyMCE files too.

The same 3 events are ticked as my other RC3 version that works fine.

I thought about the bad upload (even though I downloaded the .tar directly to the server, so it’s not that) - so deleted the tinymce210 folder and copied the whole lot over from the other install. Still didn’t work though.

That is why I am puzzed...

Am I right in saying that rerunning the installer just for that plugin *should* fix any TinyMCE issues? Or could there be an insidious DB setting that wouldn’t get reset by the installer?

Huh...odd...I did just fix a problem with the installer not updating or adding the correct event settings. I also updated TinyMCE to version 2.1.1 so...try downloading it and see if that fixes the problem. smiley

Many thanks Jeff, I didn’t realise there was a separate installer for TinyMCE.
Running your new download fixes my problem so I have an editor now which is great.
Even better is that the media plugin now seems to work if I paste in a YouTube URL (before it always set the height and width settings to zero, so the video was invisible).
