    Hi - I’m hoping someone can help me with this, as its starting to drive me crazy!

    I’m setting up a website for a client who is extremely unsavvy when it comes to technical stuff, so I don’t want her to have to use the backend manager at all. Quickedit works great, and should be easy enough for her to handle. I’ve set up the ManagerLogin to allow her to login from the frontend.

    She will also need to be able to add news articles to the site. I’ve set up NewsPublisher for this, and Web2Manager to synchronize the web and manager users. But when I login via the ManagerLogin, the newpublisher form isn’t available. When I login via the normal web login, newspublisher is available, but quickedit isn’t. The only way I can get both to work at the same time is to remove the &canpost paramater from the newspublisher call, which of course would let anyone publish to the site - which is definitely not what I want.

    Have I set things up incorrectly, or is this how its supposed to work? I understand that web and manager users are kept separate in ModX, but surely there’s some way for a manager user to add news articles from the frontend? I’ve been searching the forums for hours trying to find a solution, but I’ve not come up with anything.

    Please, please, please, if there’s anyway you can think of to make this work, let me know... I love ModX, but if I can’t get this to work it’ll be a deal breaker - and I’ll have to go back to Joomla and Wordpress :’(

    Thanks!

      Yep. Add all users as manager users then make the page redirect to an Unauthorised page if you arnt a manager.
      <?php
      // redirect snippet
      $notlogged_location ="index.php?id=1";

      if(!isset($_SESSION['mgrValidated'])){
      header("Location: $notlogged_location");
      }
      ?>

      Add that as a snippet and call it in the article add document. It’s a bit of a cheap solution but it’s the easiest that I know of.
        -New to this whole CMS thing so excuse the retardedness of any of my posts.
