For my particular application, I am using the comment section of the web user profiles for XML like additional data.

    Example:
    <payment_date>2007-01-01</payment_date>
    <department>Human Resources</department>

That works exceptionally well ... except ... I found there is a character limit on the comment box (I thought it was LONGTEXT). So I went to web_user_attributes and change comment to LONGTEXT. However, not only does it not change the field length (the data still gets truncated), but the data isn’t even stored in web_user_attributes. Where is the comment data stored at and how can I make it LONGTEXT.

Data for the ’comment’ field is definitely stored in web_user_attributes - if you’ve changed it to LONGTEXT then make sure that you removed the length value of 255 from the field definition as well.

Other than that, you will need to post your environment details (MODx version, PHP version, mySQL version etc.) for us to help ascertain the issue.
