Any scripts or ways to show members of my site?

I have been making steady progress now with my project, and i finally feel reasonably confortable with modx

I am running a commuity site for a small project.

Is there any way that I could display members profiles of the site in a section on the site. Im looking for a feature that would show their user name, where they are from in the world and a small avatar/photo of them

Like on Facebook.com, bebo.com etc

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you look in the repository at all? (Resources)
if you did you would have seen these snippets:

http://modxcms.com/resource-listing.html?offset=10&tags=user%20management

Greets Dimmy

i used the ShowMembers 1.0 by Mitch and followed the instructions.

created the snippet, pasted the code

however, when i called the snippet - [!ShowMembers? &webGroup=`name_of_a_webgroup`!]

it’s because of this isnt it? ---> "name_of_a_webgroup"

How would one find out the correct syntax to use for this call?

I think for that to work you will have to create a web group....

go to the top menu - Security/Web Permissions

either create a new group or use the ones already listed there

thank you for your reply.

I kept the default group name (Registered Users)

so i edited a blank page with this code: [!ShowMembers? &webGroup=`Registered Users`!]

So far it only shows up with the code i pasted in though..nothing else

You should also try PPP, lets your members see and edit their profiles... and many many other things...
