    Hi everyone

I have 2 ModX installations (2.1.3) hosted by 2 different hosting companies. With one of them- let's call it Hoster A - I can't get package management to work. I always get the error "Could not download package from http://modx.com/extras/download/?id=4e52ae12f24554618600003e".

I compared both php.ini settings and allow_url_fopen is Off for "Hoster A". Could that cause the error?

I solved the problem. It has something to do with fopen. By chance I came across a support article in my hosters knowledge base and there was explained that one can add the following 2 lines into .htaccess to make fopen work again:

      php_flag "allow_url_fopen" "On"
      php_flag "allow_url_include" "On"

Now package management works like a charm.

      Perhaps, this helps someone.
