Incentivisation in the Modx Forum.....Just an Idea.

I would love a system where I could put $20 on my paypal to the modx forum.....

And.....When someone gives a good ...helpful answer to my post that solves a problem, I can give them 1 ....2 .....3 tokens....whatever I think it's worth.

The person who answers gets a % of the credits, and modx gets a % of the credits.

It would be a good way for Modx to generate revenue, and for Modx users to generate another stream of income for supporting Modx users.

I know it poses a risk of people only responding in an attempt to get credit, potentially changing the spirit of the forum.....but I still like the Idea

Sounds a good idea, has it been done before anywhere? There might be unintended consequences.

IMHO it's not worth while running this risk.

It seems to me that a lot of aspects of web will be driven by things such as crowd sourcing a micro payments.

I think if modx adopted some of these principals, it would benefit.

Say for example there was a micropayment system that allowed developers to generate some extra income by spending time supporting in the forum, it would greatly help both developers and users.

To balance out the incentive element, there could be a karma system...

So, the users income is x% and if they only respond to incentivised posts, it was x% - 20% until they generate more karma by contributing to general requests.

That would spread the support to all...

Anyways ...just thinking out loud. I saw looking for Modx commercial support but its starts at like $200 a month, which I wouldn't want to pay and don't really need as I only occasionally need support.

Could I get frequent flier miles?

I'm almost certain there was talk of adding some kind of rewards system to the new forum - expect Ryan or Shaun to shed some light on this

Maybe Frequent flyer miles.....Maybe Starbucks rewards
