TinyMCE keeps adding tags

Hi,

I know its is a problem that excisted before. But now it just arose after the upgrade to revo2.2.0 pl-2.
TinyMCE ads a BR tag after each </p>. so every time i edit the page a new
is added
when i set the forced_root_block setting to false a <false> tag is just placed around the ever growing string of
tags.
We didn't have this problem in RC1 and RC2. So what has changed in 2.2.0 pl-2. ?

I tried changing 'forced_root_block' to false in 'tiny_mce.js', changed 'Convert Newlines to BRs' to false and true cleared server and browser cache after each setting.
Nothing works... this is realy driving me up the wall.

please does anyone know how to fix this.

There are system settings for TinyMCE. Go to System Settings, select "tinymce" from the dropdown for the area to search... there are a lot of options there. I can't say which one exactly affects your issue, but I know I've had to tweak those occasionally.

I allready tried them all. my guess is it is those system settings where the bug lies (if its a bug).
setting the forced_root_block to false results in a tag <false>.
Which is obviously not good.

I had the same problem on a 2.2.0-pl2 local version of a website with TinyMCE 4.3.0.
I tested it by using the "toggle editor" checkbox in TinyMCE.
A BR tag would be added between any tags each time it would switch back to the editor.

I tried to reproduce the "bug" and it appeared after changing the "tiny.element_format" key value to 'html' In the System Settings.
I then updated TinyMCE to 4.3.1 and It didn't fix the bug.

Since then I used another fresh backup with version 2.1.3 and a consistent database that I upgraded to 2.2.0-pl2.

I could reproduce the bug again.
I uninstalled the 4.3.1 TinyMCE version and it messed something up so I could not access the resources anymore.

I reinstalled it and I could access the resources again but the bug reappeared.

- I removed Tiny MCE completely.
- cleared MODx cache.
- flushed all the sessions.
- Cleared Firefox cache
- physically deleted the content of the core/cache/ folder
- logged in
- reinstalled a fresh version of TinyMCE 4.3.1
- changed the "tiny.element_format" key value to "html"

We have the same problem here. Do you have any idea what could the reason for adding


on every toggle of tinymce between </p> and <p>?

We uninstalled and installed the package, too. And now it works again correctly. Hope the bug doesn´t come back )

I keep getting this error too. It's quite frustrating as my client doesn't understand HTML formatting.

everytime you click into the toggle editor and return to tinymce view it adds 2 <p> after every <p>

VERY annoying...
I find it hard to believe that the only solution a reinstall?
