Both Doodles and modExtra are failing to load any data into the CMP grid. Otherwise they are working fine. Is there something different with Revo 2.2 that would cause this? Or am I just missing something obvious?

I know someone not too long ago had to modify a simple extra to deal with a difference in namespace handling in 2.2 for their CMP to work. Could this have something to do with why the grids in Doodles and in modExtra don't find any data to display? The snippet works fine, so the data is there and is accessible.
The modExtra is straight from git, with only the necessary configurations edited to reflect the correct paths. It works just fine except for not being able to load the data into the grid.
I have same issue. My grid doesn't call processors at all...

I have heard from others that are having the same problem. Gentlemen, the modExtra and the Doodles tutorial are very important for anyone trying to learn to work with Revo. If something in 2.2 has broken them, it's vital that it be fixed ASAP.

Well, just installed the Doodles extra via the Package Manager on 2.2 pl, and it works fine. I'll go through the tutorial again, comparing it against the working component.

I'm not sure to fully understand your problem… but i ran into troubles too while developing a CMP outside of modx base path (like it's written in the RTFM); which was solved by setting session_cookie_path system setting to "/", if that may help

That doesn't help; I've already made that setting change (make sure you clear your browser's cookies for the domain when you do that).
The problem is that the CMP grid doesn't load any data. It just sits, empty, with the "No data to display" message.
Susan, I tried to look at the Doodles commits at GitHub to see if I could find a change for 2.2, but the Doodles package hasn't been updated since last April. That suggests that it's a problem with the tutorial or, conceivably, your code. My money's on the tutorial.
