Custom output filter

I need to set the output of [[+price]] to all way show two decimals "0.00"
How would I create a custom snippet to use as an output filter?

use it:

[[+myPlaceholder:money_format]]

Thanks, but when I do this it just shows 0.00. My placeholder is [[+price]] should this be in the script?
