I realize Janitor is not complete, as far as scheduled backups are concerned. However, I feel it has potential. What I want it to do is make backups of the db and send them to me by way of email. It does so wonderfully, as long as I backup the db manually through Janitor. However, automatic scheduling is still something of an issue.
Under the 'schedule backup' area, there is a function where the system will create a php file that needs to exist on the server. This file tells the system what db to backup and where to find the backup.php file. The function provides the script you need and even offers to create the file for you on the server. I did so, naming the file my_script.php.
This is where things go wonkers, though. Janitor has a tab called 'Events' which I think is the future home of where to set automatic backups. Correct me if I'm wrong. However, at this time, the component is incomplete with that area of the component not available.
However, I find that if I take that file that I created and go to it directly by way of a browser, Janitor will created the backup and email it to me successfully.
So, I figure that all I have to do is create a cronjob to trigger this file once a day, right? The problem is that, no matter how I word the cronjob, it won't make the file work.
Can anyone suggest the proper wording of the cronjob to trigger this file?
Thank you in advance.
