    I have a MODx site set up locally on my machine, I also have a MODx site setup on my externally hosted website here (ratbum.com). As far as I'm aware the settings on these are identical.

    Unfortunately, items do not appear in the WayFinder menu on the externally hosted site, nor are they given FURLs, both of these happen properly on the local site.

    Is there any obscure setting that I'm missing? What have I done stupidly?

    Thank you very much for any and all help.

    MODx version: 2.1.5-pl
    The packages I have installed:
    modmobile
    WayFinder

    I have tried disabling modmobile. It made no difference.

    All MODx settings are included in modxinfo.txt (attached).

      Hm... this is a hard one to answer from the outside without knowing a lot more about your setup. The settings you included are your PHP settings, not the MODX system settings per se.

      What's particularly mysterious about this is that as far as I can tell your site has no published pages. That is, http://www.ratbum.com/index.php?id=1 returns 200 but all other ids I've tried return 404. So either your resources have ids I haven't tried, or they are not published or do not exist. From the outside it looks like a completely empty site, except that you have a bunch of stuff in subdirectories like /about that I'm guessing isn't actually in MODX.

        Do you have this in the <head> section of all templates?

        <base href="[[++site_url]] />

        Also, if you transferred the .htaccess file, you might have to change the RewriteBase line. Usually on a remote server, it's:

        RewriteEngine On
        RewriteBase /

          My PHP settings are at ratbum.com/phpinfo.php
          There is a published page called Walkthroughs at http://www.ratbum.com/manager/index.php?a=30&id=6. I have also now linked to this on the homepage.

          @BobRay
          I have, now, put the base tag on all my templates. Unfortunately that has not helped.
          I have attached the .htaccess file that is at the root directory on my server. It has both of those options set correctly, but there is other stuff in it which I don't entirely understand.

          Thank you both for your help.

            You did run Setup on the remote site, right? If not, do that.

            I'd suggest unpublishing the phpinfo page -- too much info for hackers.

            If you right-click on the resources in the tree, can you preview them?

            The next thing to try is deleting all files in the core/cache directory and clearing your browser cache and cookies.

            If that doesn't do it, try completely removing Wayfinder (right click on it in Package Manager and select "Remove Package", then re-download and re-install it. BTW, the extras site has been having problems to make sure you can see Wayfinder there before removing it locally.

              Your .htaccess is fine, all of the other stuff in it is commented out, except for the friendly URLs bit.

              Your other page is working fine, except that it doesn't show up on the menu.

              The menu looks like it's generated with Wayfinder, it has the default classes on the first element.

              What is the alias of the id=6 page? "walkthroughs" doesn't seem to work. Maybe friendly URLs are not turned on, but that doesn't explain why the page isn't on the menu.

              Make sure "hide from menus" isn't checked. Also, you might post the code of the wayfinder call.

              But still... you have it working locally. The same settings ought to work live. Very odd...

                I did run setup. It was a fresh install.
                I've unpublished phpinfo.php.
                I can click "View Resource" in the menu and the page will open successfully.
                I've cleared everything on multiple occasions, but to no avail.
                I just uninstalled and reinstalled WayFinder but nothing changed.

                @freejung
                That's a pleasant surprise.
                The menu is indeed the work of WayFinder.
                Friendly URLs are definitely turned on, and the page is not hidden from menus.

                I think the only sensible course of action at this point is to back everything up and try again. Thank you both for all of your help.

                  I deleted literally everything from my website and started again, and it worked brilliantly. I think there may have been some remnant of a test I did on there interfering with it.

                  Now all I have to do is mess around with cache settings for about a day until modMobile works again.

                    That's good to hear. I have no idea what went wrong, but yeah, it looks like it's working fine now.
