Anyone have an idea of when the Discuss extra will be available? I HATE the choices of forum software out there and this would be a godsend! Just curious

Vanilla's not all that bad. I've had occasion to use their integration plug-in, and it works well with MODx.

It's a new method from the one I used before. But if you don't need to coordinate logins between MODx and the forum, I found Vanilla to be about the easiest to embed and style.

Using the integration plugin is a bit out of my league, but I actually do like it

You need to create a snippet for MODx that will output the required user information on a MODx page (a resource with no template, only the snippet call). Basically this is just an AJAX application on the Vanilla side that fetches that MODx page, and checks the AJAX return against its own user validation. If everything checks out OK, then the user is logged in to both MODx and Vanilla.

Still, anyone know the release date of Discuss? I'm guessing after Revo 2.2 is out in a stable build
