Does anybody need an A/B-Test-Add-on?

To compare easily two versions of a website regarding their conversion-rate I developed an A/B-Test-Add-on for MODx Revolution.

If such an Add-on is interesting for others, too, I would publish the Add-on on the MODx-websites. Is anybody interested in such an Add-on? Or does everybody already use a good A/B-Test-Tool for deciding if for example a new design, different head, shorter copy-text or more colored layout has a better conversion rate than the existing one?

The features of the Add-on:
- Displaying randomized either two completely websites or two different versions of a website
- Eliminating double counts of a single visitor
- Providing that a certain user gets the same version of the website on coming back to the website
- Sorting out automatically bots and spiders for a better counting
- Statistic Analysis to decide if a difference in the conversion rate of two website-version is by accident or if there is a statistical significant difference. [ed. note: medical writer last edited this post 14 years, 9 months ago.]

Sure, that might be interesting. It couldn't hurt to have access to a tool like that.

OK. I was not really sure if such a tool is useful for the work of others, too. Probably I need some help how to put it in a package. The tool contains 3 snippets, 1 chunk, 1 Template and 4 TVs. Can anybody tell me what I have to do to make a package out of this?

Maybe this is possible to do with PackMan (component) if not I don't know either.

To create a transport package, you might go with PackMan as Anselm recommended.

Thanks for the help. Does anybody know if it is possible to add TVs by PackMan, too? In the PackMan-Menu I only found: Templates, Chunks, Snippets and Plugins.

The best way to learn how to write build scripts is to look at some of the ones already out there -- check out Shaun's packages on Github (search for splittingred). Some of them are really complicated, but usually you can see how various pieces have been put together.

Bob Ray has a nice section in his book about this stuff too...

Medical Writer, did you ever get this done? It sounds a useful addon.
