Hi on my first live revo site client has multiple domains, so I use domain pointers to have a single Modx/server install fro all of them. However how can I make it so that no matter which site I start in, this siote will remain my URL? Because at the moment is I land in site "not.source.com" clicking a link will change the URL in "source.com". Any suggestions. Btw if you havn t got a clue what I m on about, click a link on this site and see the url changing (we don t want that)

Then you'll want to setup domain alias or forwards at the Registrar level, thus this all happens prior to the user ever landing on the site.

I myself think it has something to do with wayfinder. It builds the links from the "baseurl", no? I mean it adds the baseurl to the links I guess, so would there be a way to do that differenly? Currently I am using domain pointers, is htaccess maybe the solution?

Sorry, might not be following exactly then.

Currently when you land on the url noted above any link selected from the left menu change the base url (domain) to http://www.beb-arolo-leggiuno.com/, are you saying you want that to always be the http://www.paradisodiarolo.com/?

If yes, then yes your base URL might be a solution however without fully understanding your domain resolution I might not be telling correctly either.

Can you detail out an example path that currently happens (url) and then explain how you want it to look through that same path?

Also more information on how your multiple domains are being funneled into the single site host would also help.

Yep I want the guest to remain on the page he arrived on, so http://www.paradisodiarolo.com will remain http://www.paradisodiarolo.com. Allthough the page runs at the other domain. Currently this is handled through DNS domainpointers.

But http://www.landing.page/about should remain the same no matter on which of the other 3 domains. where landing.page should be some kind of variable. So would htaccess be able to do this? Would Google hate me for this smiley? Or should I not bother smiley

Okay I can only think of two options, both unknown terrain to me.,
              1) the Wayfinder &scheme option, or

              2) adding all these domains in one single Modx install, but how will I have to create a single content for all these domains?
Anyone experience with either suggestion or are both no go?

The easiest method would be to rerun the setup process on that domain name, so after you have the corresponding version or do an update just put http://www.paradisodiarolo.com./setup/ and run through that again and the base url should be updated to reflect that and keep all the URL's as that.

could this do what I want? So actually put this in the ,htaccess of one domain pointing at "realdomain"

                  RewriteEngine On

                  RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.realdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

GuessI ll just need to test that.

That would be an additional overhead and not solve the issue of the wrong domain name in the links where a full URL is set. If you get the base url setup correctly then there is no need for additional rewrite rules.

Hi Charles, thing is i would like to have 3 domains pointing to one modx install.
That works fine, but as soon as you hit the wayfinder generated link, the URL changes to the URL of the MODx install. So I would like wayfinder to generate relative links, instead of "baseurl/aboutme.html" just "/aboutme.html".
