New module for MODx

Hello everybody. Previously I used the Drupal CMS. It is enough flexible sytem, but by some reasons I don't want to use it. I decided to try a MODx. I installed the Evolution 1.0.5 and trying to build a simple site. At the first look all OK, I like everything in this CMS. But I need create one feature. I need a module that reads a feed from the Google Picasa and inserts a parsed result to the specified place of my site.

Is there any posibility to implement my module into the MODX Evolution, or the Revolution is a much more right choice for me?

Hi Wolfgan. If you are just starting with MODX I would encourage you to work with Revolution. This is the newer version of the code and under much more active development.

If you are coding your own add-on you should be able to do it in either version. I don't know of any existing add-ons for Evolution or Revolution that read Picassa feeds. The Gallery add-on for Revo has Picassa integration on its roadmap for the next version:

I'm sure I can coded own add-on. I wasn't sure that Evo enable to do it. Almost overnight, I made ​​a site with Evo. Can I migrate it to Revo without any difficulties?

So, I looked through several articles about migrate. It is not good in my case. I think create new site on the Revo will simple migrate it.

There is no migration tool yet for taking a site from Evo to Revo. Here is a good resource on making the conversion:

Since you were able to build the site quickly you should, hopefully, be able to replicate it in Revo quickly.
