    OK, so file browser wont display files or folders as displayed here

    Let me start off by saying I'm new to MODX and that I've been searching the MODX forums and Google search to troubleshoot this issue for the last 3 days and I've come across numerous problems similar to this but none seem to fix the similar symptoms I'm experiencing.

    I've cross checked this with explorer, firefox and chrome browsers and all have exactly the same problem, and have also rebuilt apache on my webserver so it meets the recommended requirements and reinstalled MODX through installatron.

    Below are two screenshot of the symptoms.

    No files or sub directories

    Sub directories but no files

    It's worth mentioning that I can create folders and upload files (as checked via FTP) but they wont show within the MODX admin panels.

    Attached is my phpinfo().html

    I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into MODX but this brickwall is making it pretty frustrating.

      Looks like this will be a tough one to get some feedback on.

        Managed to fix this issue myself by installing the mbstring php package.

        On that note, shouldn't mbstring be featured on the recommended server requirements with the other packages?

          Hello,

          Thanks for posting back the solution. It's very uncommon for mbstring to not be installed on a server, but this should be something listed in the requirements.

          I've filed this as a bug so hopefully it will be added shortly.

            Thanks for acknowledging the post and hope the requisite makes its way to the official page.

            Would be good to have a brief requisite list (what you usually need to add on a standard server) and an extended list (everything you need to add).
