My tv contains 43||21||39||44||40||35||29||24||20||23||36||30||42

In the manual it states "numeric comparison values are automatically CAST TV values to numeric before comparison"

It can't cast a list of numerics for comparison with a single value; this would only work if the value was a single numeric value. In your case, using LIKE is the only way to do what you want.
