Articles 1.1.0-pl has been released: http://modx.com/extras/package/articles

    What's New:

    • Add import from MODX
    • Add import from Blogger
    • Add ability to specify file on server when importing from WordPress
    • Add sortBy and sortDir settings for getResources to the Advanced Settings tab for containers
    • Ensure that if author of Article is deleted, article can still be viewed/edited
    • Add ability to filter by author on articles
    • Vastly improve loading speeds and caching for main articles page
    • Add more options for getPage to container settings

This is a complete blogging/news solution for MODX 2.2 and later only. It integrates a variety of addons (Quip/Archivist/getResources/getPage/tagLister) into one unified interface to streamline blogging. Also, it stores that data as a MODX Resource, integrating it seamlessly into your tree and allowing other MODX Extras to easily use its data.

Articles can also import from WordPress, Blogger, and old MODX resources.

The official documentation is here: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Articles

    The bugtracker is here: http://bugs.modx.com/projects/articles

Please test, file bugs and give feedback so we can fine-tune Articles as we get closer to MODX 2.2-pl!

Nice! This is the Revo killer app that got me to switch from Evo to Revo. Now if we can only get the bugs worked out of the Revo 2.2 back end...

Thanks Susan! Glad to see you on Revo. smiley

Can you report any bugs you're experiencing here: http://bugs.modx.com/projects/revo/ so we can fix them prior to 2.2-pl? Thanks!

I'm working on using it for a comics site; a replacement for the WP ComicsPress plugin. I'll post an article on my site when I've got it all ironed out; having problems with making sense of Media Sources. But that's a matter for a different forum!

I just reported two Revo bugs, not quite show-stoppers but definitely show slower-downers! I am at this moment upgrading to the latest nightly in hopes that some of the niggly little annoyances have been dealt with. Mostly it's just a matter of buttons not behaving as expected; buttons being disable or enabled at inconvenient moments or not working at all. Some user management issues, but then the permissions system is a whole 'nother ball game all on its own, and I'm not sure if it's bugs in Revo or just me. Again, a matter for a different forum.

Please consider, whenever time/opportunity permits, incorporating the new getResources nth # template feature.

I think it would open up Articles to be used for more than articles.

              Thank you, Tom

You know, what would be great would be for a Package to be able to access the repository and suck up the latest version of whatever other extras it's including.

Two Revo bugs fixed already; that's what I call support! I feel bad not being able to offer a fix suggestion when reporting a bug, but I'm just not experienced enough in Revo to know what's going on. Yet.

                  Susan,

Revo 2.3 will be concentrating on adding lots of features to Package Management, and generally improving its architecture. Until then, though, we're stuck with what we have. smiley

And we appreciate the bug filing! Bugs that aren't reported never get fixed, no matter how knowledgable anyone is. smiley

What will really be great is when Revo can update itself, only updating files that have been changed since the last installation!

Ouch. Changing the values of the new Sort Field and Sort Direction fields doesn't enable the Save button.
