I tried to make a test site and found that getResource is rather slow when using TV images. 3-6 sec on first page load. On second - less than 1 sec. Because of the cache. In this way all my site are cached for better performance.
    So? I'v got 2 questions:
    1. Is there still way to display pages faster? Another getResource alternative?
    2. Are any limitations for amount of cached pages in this case? Or may I cache whole the site?

For example: here are homepage http://abstructor.com/ with 3 getRes:
    [[getResources?
      &hideContainers=`1`
      &sortby=`{"createdon":"DESC"}`
      &parents=`10`
      &showHidden=`1`
      &tpl=`homeGallItem`
      &limit=`10`
      &includeTVs=`1`
      &depth=`2`
    ]]

    another two are similar

I'd be thrilled if pages loaded in 3-6 seconds on my crummy Internet connection! That aside, you can cache anything you like. However, every time a resource is edited, the cache has to be refreshed, so every page will again be a bit slow on its first load. One way you can minimize this is to consider what pages won't affect dynamic things such as generated menus or news listings, and set those resources settings to not clear the cache on save. This way only the pages whose creation or updating need to force changes in menus or news/blog listings will clear the cache.

Hmm... hope I never find myself wanting to post about a certain type of fish, as the root word of a common somewhat vulgar synonym for crummy is nanny-blocked!

Thank you! Probably I was a bit snickering. Indeed that's no so huge time for the first load. But I'd like to be shure if I'll make a site on MODX in future the server will not be sudden overloaded. Let's say, these statements will be continued with 200 pages, as well as with 2000 pages. Of course given the same number of visits.
I have a few more questions and I'll ask them later. Also, I 've made a copy of the site on wordpress and will show it for comparison a bit later. I don't decided yet what the CMS is better to me. I skilled with WP much more, however I really like MODX and I would like to study it more closely.

You really need to install Revo 2.2 beta, and install the Articles extra. It is an amazing piece of work; the simple blog management of WP with all the benefits of MODx. A few minor bugs here and there in the manager interface when installing the Articles package, but it's impressive even now.

Yes, I have taste 2.2 and that's what I want to say. This is faaaaaaaar more coolest version than 2.1.5. Moreover - it seemed to me that is faster. Unfortunately I found a few bugs. I would not hesitate to start the site from this version if I'd been sure that I can upgrade the site with no problems later, when the stable version will be released. What do you think?

Well, I can't really tell you what to do, but since the Articles extra only works on 2.2 I'll be using it for a new comic book site I'm building. The client has used WordPress with its ComicPress plugin and isn't real happy with it. I was going to use Evo, as I'm far more familiar with it, but the Articles extra made me decide to go with Revo instead. That's going to be a real killer app for Revo.

As far as upgrading, well we'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it. I downloaded the latest nightly build today, and will upgrade it on my localhost in another couple of days. That should give a pretty good idea of how that goes.

You can speed up the uncached performance of getResources quite a bit by using the includeTVList and processTVList parameters to limit it to just looking at the TVs you want. Since you're not processing TVs anyway the latter doesn't apply in this case but I thought I'd mention it for others.

Performance is still not ideal but it should be quite a bit better.
