Sort by parent ID

Hallo MODx world,

I have created some custom groups and assigned hotels to that. E,g.: as follows

Spain(10)
Benidorm(325)
oldTown(4556)

Spain is the parent, Benidorm is the child of Spain, OldTown is the child of Benidorm and grandchild of Spain.
Each of these destination have some hotels assigned and rated by star rating custom Group 2 star Hotels
If I call the 2 star hotels from Spain then all the 2 star hotels are show including from child and grand child. That is what I want and it’s fine.

But if I call the 2 star hotel from OldTown then also all the 2 star hotels shown as Spain.

So how can I limit the child call to only its 2 star hotel and its child 2 star hotels?

any help appreciated.

I imagine it’s ditto you’re talking about, some sample code of your calls would help !

At first sight, I am not sure what you want is sorting by parent ID (for this, you’ll need to place a different ditto call in Spain, Benidorm, Oldtown). I would say you need to define TVs for your star ratings and then use Ditto filters to achieve what you need... or else wait for TVexplorer which will be out soon (an example of use can be seen here : http://www.deco-in.com/recherche-avancee).

The only way this happens is if you have the same parent set in your Ditto calls for OldTown... remove the &parents parameter and it will default to self (current document).
