    hi

I am trying to make FormIt working on my MODX website.
    Here are the details:
    MODX Rev. 2.1.3-pl (traditional)
    FormIt Package vers 2.0.2

MX records changed to Google Apps, so emails are handled by Google.
    FormIt snippet:

    [[!FormIt?
    &hooks=`spam,email,redirect`
    &emailTpl=`SubscribeEmail`
    &emailTo=`[email protected]`
    &redirectTo=`1`
    &validate=`email:email:required`
    ]]

    Mail system settings:
    SMTP Authentication: Yes
    SMTP Hosts: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Password: our Google Apps admin user password
SMTP Port: 465 (tried with 587 as well)
    SMTP Connection Prefix; tls
SMTP user: [email protected] (our Google Apps admin account)

in MODX log report I get the following messages:
    "...SSL: Success"
    "... Failed to enable crypto"
"...unable to connect to tls://smtp.gmail.com:465 (Unknown error)"
"... SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host."

I also tried QuickEmailCheck to diagnose the problem and got the following error message:
Mailer error info: SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

I simply can not figure out what should I try to overcome this problem.
I would be happy for a smart feedback or a link to a post where this issue is being already solved.

    thanx in advance

Those settings have always worked for me.

Do you have a different username/password for Gmail? If so, try that.

Also, if the same computer has logged in to Gmail with a different username, you might still be logged in to that account.

        hi Bob

well, I tried what you said but still I get same error messages
now I wrote to my hosting to make sure everything is OK from their side

I'm really curious what it might be

          Hi sherlockseo,

Could it be that the account itself doesn't have POP or IMAP enabled?

well, I don't think POP or IMAP should be enabled for this
what makes you think these should be enabled?
