Yesterday I asked MODX Developers to name their "
Top 5 Reasons for Developing with MODX" and the responses were wonderful (we'd love to hear yours).
For you designers and creatives: what are your top 5 reasons MODX rocks for designers? If you were talking to another designer, what would you tell them are the reasons you like designing and working with MODX. How does it compare to other CMS apps you've used?

1. Creation of templates in MODx – one of the most pleasant occupations. It is difficult to find system in which you can supervise a code output html on all of 100 %.
2. Your imagination - a reality. Probably, all who worked about any another CMS, in days of the first acquaintance with MODx unsuccessfully drove in into search engines something like: «templates for MODx», «to download templates MODx», «free templates MODx», «templates MODx» in search of any ready decisions as it is accepted, for example, by development with usage Joomla and WordPress. To admit, for me too there was such sin. And what surprise when in output of searchers by the most relevant results there were some sites of the various enthusiasts, offering on slightly killed designs, with proud title that they for MODx was.
3. Is not present what higher mathematics, simply you should itself to understand solid that a template for MODx — the normal imposed page, normal CSS a template, normal html+css the document. And all. A template can be both thin page with several tags, and design with connected CSS, JS files and the most complicated imposition. Any CSS a template which you found or in the Internet, or made, already is by default a template for MODx. Everything that you will need to make, it slightly it to adjust. It very much facilitates life all: and designer to which should not restrict now itself to management system possibilities, and to the developer who can realize this unrestrained imagination. Frequently, this system is so convenient that allows to unite and the designer and the developer - the programmer in one person.
4. With it it is possible to work somehow.
5. In driving - life.

Small sample of extensions
1. Theming and site-building with MODx is straightforward and logical, with a simple directory structure for theme assets. Theming WordPress or Drupal, in contrast, is a nightmare.
2. MODx empowers me to quickly and easily take my photoshop design and convert it to a website with pixel-perfect accuracy.
3. For page interactivity and effects, I can use my favorite js framework, Mootools, without having jQuery forced down my throat.
4. For me, templates, TVs and chunks make scaffolding and repurposing content stupid-simple.
5. Creating and styling (and re-using) navigation according to design spec is easy with Wayfinder and config files. Every site needs navigation so this is a huge plus.
CMS selection is tantamount to religious affiliation. It would take a lot to woo someone away from their chosen tool of the trade. For anyone open to change, however, all I would say is try one project with MODx and see for themselves what true productivity is all about.
