Hi all,
after a fresh Installation of Revo on a live Server - not in the root, but in a directory www.example.de/subdir/modx/ - I successfully updated the database and uploaded the assets folder of my project. After adapting the paths like usual all is working fine.
The Package Installer is listing the installed snippets, e.g. Wayfinder Version 2.3.2, with the button offering to upgrade to version 2.3.3.
Trying this turned out to be a strange experience.
Firstly, the text areas titled "Licence Agreement", "Readme" and "Changelog" were empty.
I had to use the browser's scaling to zoom out in order to access the button "Next" at the bottom.
The "Setup Options" again showed an empty field. Clicking "Finish" anyway evoked this Console information:
Attempting to install package with signature: wayfinder-2.3.3-pl
Package found...now preparing to install.
Target directory is either not a directory or writable: http://www.example.de/subdir/modx/core/packages/
Could not transfer package wayfinder-2.3.3-pl.transport.zip to http://www.example.de/subdir/modx/core/packages/.
Could not install package with signature: wayfinder-2.3.3-pl
But the directory exists and is writeable (777).
(In a first try the path given in this message was the one of the local xampp version of the project,
c:\xampp\htdocs\example\subdir\modx\. After some research I found this path in the table modx_workspaces, where I corrected it via phpMyAdmin, hoping this would solve the problem...)
Anyway, I had to break the attempt to upgrade Wayfinder. And strange again: Now in the Package Installer's list there is not any more listed the old version Wayfinder 2.3.2, but the new one 2.3.3 with the status "Not installed". (And the site continues to work with WF 2.3.2.)
BTW: It's not a Wayfinder issue, same observations when trying to update other snippets.
Any explanations and/or hints for a way out are much appreciated.
