I have checked out many different CMS and so finally I am here at Modx.
My name is Dave and I am a former web designer turned artist due to a disability I have which causes issues with concentration and focus. So, I moved to art out of necessity more or less and yet here I am lol. I am trying to setup a website for artists who have schizophrenia, aspergers an other illnesses like that. What I would like to do is make it so that images from artists catalogs can be posted on the main page and then artists can create a profile of there own as well, with a bio and home page of all their images. Also, I want to be able to skin the site with my own layout and graphics.
Will it be possible for me to do so with Modx? I have a very hard time focusing on code, and anything beyond very basic HTML and CSS is out of reach for me right now. Yes, I totally would love to pay for help, as a matter of fact it would thrill me, but right now that is not a reality, I am putting in a proposal at another website for funding for the project, but that can take time, and I need to have something setup lol.
So, I guess what I would like to know is, can I look forward to support here knowing my questions will go unanswered?

That can absolutely be done with MODX, though not all of it will be easy.
Skinning the site will be the easy part. MODX puts no restrictions on the visual design and makes it easy create whatever design you like.
The user interface and navigation features will be a little more challenging, as will setting up the galleries and their display.
The hard part will be creating the security system so that users can only update their own galleries.
People generally get very good help here if they can explain what they want to do clearly enough, do a good job of describing the problems they are having, and aren't expecting someone else to do the site for them.
The decision on whether to use MODX Evolution or Revolution is a tricky one because the gallery options for Evolution are more mature. Someone with more experience in doing user-contributed galleries could give you better advice on that than I could.
