Changing of Resource Fields

Hi.

Have a simple question, sorry, haven't found it in the topics.

I need to change the size of description resource field in Revo (When I used Evo, the problem did not exist). In DB I see that it has varchar(256) type, but in manager I can not paste there more than about 130 characters. (By the way, it would be useful to change the field from Text to Textarea). As I understand, I have to change the editor form? Where can I find it? And is not this a bug that the field in manager is shorter than it's size in database?

I don't know what's up with that field, but could you use the Summary (introtext) field or a template variable instead?

The problem is that I use Introtext to show articles' summaries in a catalogue, and want to use shorter summary text of the articles in the main page (but not so short as Description field is now). So Summary is already busy. Is it so hard to alter the length attribute of the field?.. Will it cause any additional problems?

I don't think it will hurt to change the type of that field in the DB, but I don't know where the setting is for the Manager field and changing it might mess up the layout (or not -- I've never tried it).

In DB the field is OK, the problem is in the form of Manager GUI. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

As I can find out, fields limitations are set in:
- Database
- classes map files (modresource.map.inc.php)
- somewhere in ExtJS validation scripts.
I cant find where the manager fields validation scripts are located.
If anybody know, how modx validates manager fields, please write here.

So, I found it. Fields limitations are in file /manager/assets/modext/build/widgets/resource/modx.panel.resource-min.js

So, after thar I quite easy changed longtitle limit from 255 chars to 500.
