4 column layout with Ditto call

Hi all

I have a client that wants to have a 4 column index page, build by individual News entries called via ditto. the main problem is, that he does not want to have all divs at the same height. His idea was to float them all to the left, but that can't work because of the uneven height of the divs.

Anyone any idea how this could be built.
