I am getting the following errors which are preventing me from installing Revo 2.2 rc1 and was wondering if anyone ran into this or knows which directories are supposed to exist but do not (note that serverpath is just a substitute for the real path):
Checking if /serverpath/public_html/core/packages directory is writable: OK!
Checking if directory exists: Failed!
Checking if directory exists: Failed!
Checking if directory exists: Failed!
Checking if /serverpath/public_html/core/config/config.inc.php exists and is writable: OK!
I got it too. I had copied the files from the unzipped dir using these commands:
cp -rf modx-2.2.0-rc1/* revodocs
cp -rf modx-2.2.0-rc1/*.* revodocs
I started over and only used the first command and I did not receive the error any more.
I just ran into this problem. I think I see the issue, but have no knowledge of how to fix. Here is my issue:
Checking if /nfs/c01/h13/mnt/1256/domains/mydomain.com/html/core/cache directory exists: OK!
Checking if /nfs/c01/h13/mnt/1256/domains/mydomain.com/html/core/cache directory is writable: OK!
Checking if /nfs/c01/h13/mnt/1256/domains/mydomain.com/html/core/export directory exists: OK!
Checking if /nfs/c01/h13/mnt/1256/domains/mydomain.com/html/core/export directory is writable: OK!
Checking if /nfs/c01/h13/mnt/1256/domains/mydomain.com/html/core/packages directory exists: OK!
Checking if /nfs/c01/h13/mnt/1256/domains/mydomain.com/html/core/packages directory is writable: OK!
Checking if /nfs/c01/h05/mnt/1256/domains/mydomain.com/html/ directory exists: Failed!
Checking if /nfs/c01/h05/mnt/1256/domains/mydomain.com/html/manager/ directory exists: Failed!
Checking if /nfs/c01/h05/mnt/1256/domains/mydomain.com/html/connectors/ directory exists: Failed!
Checking if /nfs/c01/h13/mnt/1256/domains/mydomain.com/html/core/config/config.inc.php exists and is writable: OK!
As you can see, the path in the 3 that fail are different than the paths of the ones that succeeded. [ /nfs/c01/h05/ vs. /nfs/c01/h13/
I"m trying to upgrade to 2.2.5 and the references being talked about in the official fix above are seemingly outdated. Please help!!

I'm not sure this thread's error/solution is applicable for you.
Check your config files for this weird path, hopefully one of them is wrong and you can change it manually. Looks like your server changed something in the actual server path since you installed last time. If you don't see anything telling MODX to look at this other path, call your host.
(I've had host change the server path randomly, and then tell me they won't/can't control such events which can occur any time without notification - said site was promptly moved to a friendly server)
Updating your Config Files
Once you've deployed files to the new server, you need to update the main configuration file: core/config/config.inc.php. You have to update paths to 6 different resources. Open the file and update the values for the following variables doing a find and replace:

$modx_core_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/core/';
$modx_processors_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/core/model/modx/processors/';
$modx_connectors_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/connectors/';
$modx_manager_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/manager/';
$modx_base_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/';
$modx_assets_path= '/path/to/modx_doc_root/assets/';
/* HOST (used for command-line PHP stuff) */
$http_host='yoursite.com';
If you are also moving your site into or out of a subfolder, be sure to update the variables such as $modx_connectors_url, $modx_manager_url, and $modx_base_url. They should generally
end with a slash (e.g., $modx_base_url='/' for a site not in a subfolder).
Permissions
Before you can edit your config file, you may need to loosen up the permissions. After you've edited it, be sure you restore the read-only permissions on the file.
There are also 3 additional configuration files that contain two PHP constants:
define('MODX_CORE_PATH', '/path/to/modx_doc_root/core/');
define('MODX_CONFIG_KEY', 'config');
/config.core.php
/connectors/config.core.php
/manager/config.core.php
Make sure you update the paths in these files as well.
