I would like to use MODX Revolution for more of my sites. I find it performs better than Evolution, the manager is better to use, and I like the security of knowing that it will continue to get better with continuous updates.
However, since most of my sites involve images and organizing images in galleries, I simply can't. Unfortunately, Gallery for Revolution is simply an ineffective replacement for MaxiGallery. Here's the main reason:
With MaxiGallery, I can drop it in as a TV, so that a new gallery will automatically be created when a resource is created. For many of my clients, this is much simpler and much more intuitive than going a step back in the manager, then posting a new Gallery snippet call. In my opinion, it is also a much more logical way to organize galleries, i.e. each resource has a gallery tied to it.
Therefore, I am putting out a request for a MaxiGallery equivalent for Revolution. Basically, as close as possible, with perhaps a slightly refined uploading interface. If this new gallery system were created, I would request that it support plugins such as Fancybox, Galleriffic, (or the latest equivalents) and something like the simple version of the JQuery cycle plugin.
I am not just here to idly complain, though. If someone is willing to work on this, I will provide fair compensation. MODX is an important part of my work, and I am happy to support it to make it better.

Right now I'm using MIGX for the slideshows, but it's not ideal.
