Hi,
for my MODx powered site, I want to create a collaborative book where users can add pages to the book and others can add comments.
Now, I could use Jot, but somebody was asking about using Jot for a forum, and it was hinted that it might not scale well. So, I’m thinking the same thing about a book. Pages in a book will not be archived (like in a blog).
So, what I really need to be able to do is to create documents from the user side. e.g. I have a book document container which has inside it some section document containers, each section has a "Add Page" link. This link takes the user to a form where the page content can be edited. A submit button will then create a new document in that section’s container. Ditto is also being used to collate the pages inside the section container so that they can be viewed on the section as a table of contents.
Does anyone know how to achieve this functionality?
I am using the following for development:
Linux rogue 2.6.19-gentoo-r5 #1 PREEMPT Sun Feb 25 17:00:29 GMT 2007 i686 AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2000+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
dev-db/mysql-5.0.26-r2
dev-lang/php-5.2.1-r3
net-www/apache-2.0.58-r2
and MODx 0.9.6rc1
Thanks,
Luke.

I thought that the NewsPublisher snippet was deprecated in favour of Jot and Ditto?
Luke.
you could take a look at newsmanager and news editor works better than newspublisher and it has support for tv’s
