I'd like to use Form Customizations in the following manner:
    1. define some "global" customizations that apply by default to all templates and all users (for example, I want to change the lable of "Long Title" to "Page Heading" since I use that field for my H1 headings).
    2. define some more elaborate customizations for particular templates and/or user groups. For example, for resources that use my "blurb" template, I want to hide most of the fields and rename the rest.

I'd like the 2nd type of FC rules to overwrite the 1st type (and was expecting that was how they would work). In other words, if I am not triggering a more specific FC set (by using a particular template or being a member of a particular group, etc.), I expect the generic FC rules to be applied to whatever resource I happen to be editing. BUT, if I *am* performing an action that has a more specific FC set associated with it, then I expect *those* FC rules to come in to effect.

Instead, what is happening is that when I activate the "generic" FC profile, it seems to override the more specific ones. When I edit a resource that uses the "blurb" template, I no longer get the FC rules that I've associated with that template... I get the generic ones.

Is there a way to control precedence of FC sets/profiles?

I don't think so at this point. I suspect that they are applied in the order they were created, if later ones don't overwrite earlier ones, might work to put the generic ones last.

If not, you'd have to set constraints on the generic ones so they would not apply in the situations where you want the specific ones to apply, though that probably isn't very convenient.
