I am trying to set up my site so that I can update the TV on the site settings page have use that content on every page. It iis sorta working on the home page, but i get a bunch of array stuff on the rest of them.

You can see what I am talking about here:

    www.jbmwebdesign.com

if you look at the home page, it looks fine. if you go to the about us page, you see the error below the main content.

here is the code I have in my template:

    [[!getResources? &resources=`[[$settings_page_id]]` &tpl=`column3-1` &includeTVs=`1` &processTVs=`1` &tvPrefix=``&parents=`0` &includeContent=`1` &showHidden=`1`]]

    Here is the column3-1 chunk:

    [[*tv.column3-1?]]

and the setting_page_id is set to 7 which is the page with the TVs

any ideas on how I can accomplish this?

I basically want a settings_page that has all the TV linked to it. You fill in the content there, and then pull those TVs out to the main template for the site.

Thanks! [ed. note: jasonmonette last edited this post 14 years, 11 months ago.]

You need to put code tags around the chunk code so we can see it.

Are the TVs connected to the page template for the other pages?

put the code in code tags. Yes, all the pages are tied to the same template.

Basically what I am trying to accomplish is as an easy way for the customer to update the columns using the rich text editor as TV in a site settings page.

I think I figured it out.

            In my chunks I had:

            [[*tv.column3-1?]]

            I needed to have:

            [[+tv.column3-1?]]

Right, getResources processes placeholder tags (+). Content tags (*) will always get the value from the current resource.
