2.1.5 installation failed with MODx could not unpack . . . core.transport.zip package

Hi all,

I turned almost crazy for 5 days trying to install an advanced 2.1.5 on my plesk 9.5 / linux server.

Every time I tried to install it I got the message saying it can't unpack the core.transport.zip at the end of the installation (when you have all these green comments telling you database tables have been created).

I was trying to install with a moved core, and I suspected my plesk configuration to be wrong in some way.

Finally, I decided to clear the vhost, and start a fresh new install with standard package version, no moved core....

And it was the same problem !

At the end, I was close to give up when I decided to clean up again and install the 2.1.3 standard.

And after 5 days, finally I can say clear and loud, there is something different in the 2.1.5 package that turns it impossible to install on my server where 30 other domains runs quietly !

Dev team, do you have some kind of answers ?

There aren't that many changes in 2.1.5 from 2.1.3, especially in setup so I'm not sure what the issue could be. Anyone else?

There is something different between 2.1.3 standard and 2.1.5 standard, since one install and the other not.

To make sure I also tried 2.1.3 advanced and 2.1.5 advanced.

result :
2.1.3 standard install properly
2.1.3 advanced, 2.1.5 standard, 2.1.5 advanced same problem.

I have grab the apache error at the install of 2.1.3 adavanced fail if this can be usefull



I have changed the name of the domain to mydomain....

Anyone ?

hello Fildefer57, i have exactly the same problem while trying to upgrade to 2.1.5-pl a 2.1.3-pl site on a shared server.

First option checkbox in Advanced options is "disabled" but i'm on shared server and i all is manually unpacked.

Did you find a solution ?

Solution : update php to have ziplib 0.9.0 !

another solution on a fresh 2.1.5 install on infomaniak.ch host:

chmod core/packages/core/ folder and sub-folders to 777 before install.

modx setup will show a lot of errors but at the end it will be ok !!

Iam not a fan of 777 everywhere...

I have tried the fast_cgi setup for php and it was just fine, before install if you have ssh access just do :



On the command line replacing the tree by yours and domainuser:psacln by your user ans group.
