I am struggling to install MODx. Stuck at "Connection Information" stage.
I am set on using MS SQL server.
On "Test database server connection and view collations" it gives me:
Connecting to database server:
Could not connect to the database server. Check the connection properties and try again.
[2011-11-11 10:48:57] (ERROR in xPDO::connect @ ..\core\xpdo\xpdo.class.php : 344) SQLSTATE[IMSSP]: This extension requires either the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Native Client (SP1 or later) or the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Native Client ODBC Driver to communicate with SQL Server. Neither of those ODBC Drivers are currently installed. Access the following URL to download the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Native Client ODBC driver for x86: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=16371
I tried to follow the advise in the error message but I have newer version of the Native Client already installed.
Credentials seem to be ok, I can connect with them using SQL Management Console.
I tried many different ways (tcp, named pipes) of specifying server name.
I am going back to "Install Options" and then "Connection Information" again every time.
I have "php_pdo_sqlsrv_53_nts.dll" extension enabled.
I also have "php_sqlsrv_53_nts_vc9.dll" enabled, which used to work a treat with another CMS
I have just uninstalled (disabling it does not help either).
Disabled all MySQL related extension in PHP to start with.
General Googling did not help me either.
Can you point me towards a solution?
Is there a way to get more detailed information about what actually went wrong?
Best regards,
Trebor.
