    Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has a solution that would help me do some kind of a bulk upload of content pages.
I am about to look at the prospect of a 500 page site!!!
I think it would be quicker if I can put it together offline and upload some kind of an sql file???
Any thoughts would be really appreciated.
I know filemaker and can create a database there that can export easy enough if that helps anyone with any ideas????
    please help!

    thanks.

If the pages are already made, just use the "import" (tools->import html) tool, then rearrange the tree structure and set templates and such as necessary.

        thanks sottwell,
i haven’t started the process of putting any content together at this point.
if i did use the import site tool, how would i define areas like TV’s in my html so that when I set the template it would include TV’s??
I was kind of thinking that I would create some kind of sql query to upload all the info but don’t really know enough about that to do it!

        thanks.

The way I understand the import function, you need to strip out all of the layout elements, leaving only the main content area. The alias is built from the page’s title in the <head>, and whatever’s in the <body> section is made into documents. You then create your template in MODx and assign the template (with TV’s, etc) to the documents. I also believe there’s a template changer module which allows you to mass-change templates for your documents. smiley
