I am digging into internationalization of modx and I came across a blog post on digital butter
    http://www.butter.com.hk/blog/posts/2010/08/internationalization-in-modx-revolution.html
where they describe how to add new topics and entries to the lexicon.

I tried it and this somehow changed my view towards the lexicon. Here are my questions:

    1. Can I CRUD entries with the interface without touching php-files?
    2. Can I use the lexicon terms in the frontend just like TVs?

These two functionalities are very important to me as non-developers will have to administrate the lexicon to edit frontend languages.

    Thanks

      1. No, you need to use php processors to do your CRUD actions. Misunderstood - you can edit Lexicon strings from the System > Lexicon Management menu

      2. Sure, more like chunks actually. Have a look here:Lexicon Tags

        Hey Lucas,

        thanks, again laugh

Now, my problem is: Entries within my php file are not displayed in the lexicon. Neither are new entries I added from the backend. They are not added to the php file, either. They just exist in the cache file for that topic.

Moreover, I added several languages to that namespace & topic. however, only the English one is displayed. So I can't choose between languages.

Thought maybe it is a file permissions problem. Turned out it isn't.

Looks like I solved the problem! When adding a new namespace the tooltip says you can use MODX_CORE_PATH. This did not seem to work properly in my case. Used full path instead.

          Thanks for your help!
