Is there any way of making MODx manager NOT require that JavaScript be kept enabled in the browser? I did search around for "javascript" and found no answer to this.

P.S. Some web sites/applications (Google mail, for example) detect the lack of JavaScript, give a nice error message, and drop the user into a plain html interface; but MODx manager simply prints "Please wait while MODx loads the page..."

The MODx manager requires Javascript and will for the foreseeable future.

Thanks. And a follow-up question: How difficult is it to use modx to create a web site that takes advantage of JavaScript, but degrades gracefully to plain html if needed?

Now it has nothing to do with MODx itself but everything to do with unobstrusive javascript

If I were you, I’d start by reading Behavioral Separation from A list Apart, that’s for the theory and then read articles such as A Guide to Unobtrusive Javascript Validation from ParticleTree (there are many others).

I’d also look into mootools and jQuery, those js frameworks are built to be unobstrusive thus it’s a good starting point...
