    Hi,
working on www.oldsalem.org and need some advice: If you browse thru the site a little you will see that the Hours of Operation change for the respective areas of the town. For example http://www.oldsalem.org/b100.html shows the Hours of Operation for "Historic Town of Salem". These "hours of operation" are always going to be visible on a content page so the client would like to be able to select the correct version from a drop down menu.

I have seen Template variables and think these are just made for this type of thing...but how do I get something like that setup? I have seen that there are dropdownmenus and a delimiter widget as to how to go about selecting a value from a dropdownmenu which will insert the relative (chunk?) HTML. The other thing is that the client needs to be able to add new "Hours of Operation" occasionally so they would need to have the ability to add a chunk and the relative value to the list.

The site was started using dotnetnuke, until the programmer (and 2 subsequent programmers) decided that didn’t feel up to it anymore. I’m doing it now as a favour for someone but want to use ModX for numerous reasons (not least because everybody who is anybody is using it smiley )

Thanks for any pointers on this...or any other aspect of templating the site!

    Cheers
    Taff

My solution, for anybody looking something similar, was to create numerous chunks of HTMl and add them to a TV list. The client selects one and all is good. If he needs a new timing then he creates a chunk using the RTE of his choice and adds the chunk name to the list.
