How to install properly advanced version for https manager ?

I need help to setup a modx advanced installation...

I have the following server setup :

var/.../httpdocs
var/.../httpsdocs

the https directory is only accessible thru https://mydomain

I want to install modx to do the following :

Access to the manager only thru https://mydomain/manager
Access to public part of the site thru http://mydomain/index.html
Access to private part of the site thru https://mydomain/private.html

of course private resources will be hosted in the var/.../httpsdocs directory.

I think I must install the advanced version of Revo, am I rigth ?
where should I place the setup directory ?
where should I place the core directory ? here I guess it's in the var/.../httpsdocs directory.

What are the parameters I should give in the advanced install ?

I am confident with standard, this will be my first trail with the advance install...
