Write the MODx cache to a folder outside the core?

Hi guys,

I may have a requirement to write the MODx cache to a folder outside of the MODx core.
This is due to a third party tool which is resetting the folder privilages, and therefore causing problems (long story)

Is it possible to specify the cache to another dir outside of the core?

If you are using MODX 2.1+, in your core/config/config.inc.php there is an array declared called $config_options where you can specify custom configuration settings when loading a modX instance. Just edit it to look like this:
