robots.txt how to with friendly url

Hi

I want to see my robots.txt at my document tree so i created a new document (plain/text) with alias robots.txt
I am using friendly urls and seostricturl snippet (http://modxcms.com/SEO-Strict-URLs-1335.html)
so my pages looks like, mysite.com/page-name/ and but my robots.txt , mysite.com/robots.txt/
??? is this ok ? will bots see it as /robots.txt or should i just throw my robots.txt to root as normal websites

Bots won’t be able to see that, they specifically look for a file named robots.txt in the site root.
